Getting the Heat Right in Your Husky HyPET System
When you’re running high-speed PET blowing, the thermal profile is everything. If the preform doesn’t heat up evenly all the way through the wall, you’re going to end up with thin spots or that annoying pearlescence in your bottles. It’s a headache you don’t need. That’s why we built our replacement lamps specifically for Husky HyPET systems. We wanted to fix that penetration problem once and for all.
How we actually get the heat inside
Most standard lamps just blast the surface. You end up with a “burnt” exterior while the core stays cold. We do things differently. We use a specific short-wave infrared spectrum that pushes the heat deeper into the PET. By tweaking the tungsten filament density and the thickness of the quartz, we make sure the energy actually hits the center of the preform wall. It just works.
The hardware side of things
These are simple drop-in replacements. Whether you’re running Sidel or Krones-style setups, they fit the OEM footprint exactly. You won’t have to mess around with your oven racks or “make it work.” It just slides in. We also used high-purity quartz glass so they don’t burn out prematurely. Plus, the connectors are built to handle constant heating and cooling without shaking loose. You can swap them out quickly and get your line moving again.
A quick heads-up on high-density output
Here’s the thing: when you crank up the wattage to get better penetration, it puts more pressure on your oven’s ventilation. If your cooling fans are clogged or just can’t keep up, the air in the heating zone will get too hot. Before you know it, your preforms are starting to deform before they even hit the blow mold. **Keep your airflow clear.**It’s the only way to get the most out of these high-output tubes. We aren’t interested in the fluff. We just wanted a lamp that hits the right temperature in the shortest time possible. Simple as that.
