Power, Heat, and the “Burnout” Problem
Most high-speed lines run on 400V or 230V. We match those numbers exactly. Why? Because if the voltage is off, your lamps burn out way too fast. Now, a 2500W tube puts out a ton of heat to soften PET quickly, but that puts a lot of pressure on your connectors. To handle that thermal shock, we use high-grade quartz glass. **One quick tip:**Keep your cooling fans clean. If they’re clogged, these lamps will run way too hot, and you risk warping the quartz. It’s a simple fix that saves you a lot of money.
The Secret Sauce: Halogen and Coatings
We use halogen gas to keep the filaments alive longer. It basically pushes the tungsten back onto the wire so it doesn’t thin out and snap. But here’s the really cool part: for certain PET jobs, we add a specific coating to the quartz. This makes sure the heat actually hits the resin instead of bouncing off the preform and heating up your machine walls. It’s all about getting the energy where it actually belongs.
Getting Them Installed
We stick to standard R7s and Sk15 connectors. Because of that, our lamps fit about 95% of the gear already out there. No clunky adapters. You just pull the old tube out and slide the new one in. Simple. And since we keep these in stock, you can skip those brutal OEM lead times. Just do me a favor:**double-check your wattage and length before you hit order.**If the lamp is off by even 2mm, it won’t sit right in the socket. And if it doesn’t seat, it won’t fire.
