The Trick to Getting the Heat Right
The goal is simple: get that PET preform to the perfect blowing temperature without scorching the plastic. To do that, you have to nail the balance of wattage and voltage. We lean into shortwave radiation. By using a high-voltage tube (like 400V), we can cram more power into a shorter length. It means more heat hits the preform wall exactly where it needs to. One quick tip, though: if your cooling fans are clogged with dust, all that concentrated heat can actually bake your reflectors. Keep your airflow clear, or you’re just asking for trouble.
No More Burnouts
We use high-purity quartz glass because, frankly, nobody has time to replace lamps every few weeks. You’ll notice we stick to standard R7s or SK15 connectors. Why? Because they can handle the “stretch” of thermal expansion during those rapid heat-up cycles. They stay connected when things get hot. Plus, we added a coating to the quartz that bounces the heat inward toward the plastic instead of letting it bleed out into the machine. It’s a simple way to stop wasting energy.
Just Swap and Go
The best part is that you don’t have to touch your wiring. We matched the dimensions and electrical footprints of the OEM Sidel lamps exactly. You just pull the dead one out and pop the new one in. Now, here is the one thing you have to watch out for. Since these are designed to fit almost everything, you still need to double-check your wattage. If you plug a 2500W lamp into a circuit meant for 2000W, you’re going to trip your breakers or fry your controllers. It’s a fast way to ruin your afternoon. Just check the labels before you flip the switch.
